IPS Assembly joins NAMC

We are proud to announce that IPS Assembly Corp has officially joined the National Advanced Mobility Consortium, Inc. (NAMC) – a significant milestone in our continued growth as a defense-capable electronics manufacturer right here in Michigan.

What is NAMC?

NAMC is a 501(c)(3) non-profit consortium based in Sterling Heights, Michigan, and one of the longest-serving Department of Defense (DoD) consortiums in the country. Founded in 2008, NAMC has facilitated more than $1.5 billion in awarded projects for its member organizations, acting as a trusted bridge between the DoD and industry to accelerate ground vehicle, autonomy, and robotics technologies for the U.S. Warfighter.

With nearly 550 member organizations – spanning traditional and non-traditional defense contractors, small businesses, academic institutions, and research organizations – NAMC enables its members to compete for DoD-funded projects through its Detroit Arsenal Innovation (DAI) Other Transaction Authority (OTA), administered in partnership with the U.S. Army Ground Vehicle Systems Center (GVSC) in Warren, Michigan.

Why This Matters for IPS Assembly

At IPS Assembly, we’ve spent decades building precision wire harnesses, cable assemblies, printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs), and box builds for the automotive and industrial sectors. The skills and quality standards that make us a trusted tier supplier in automotive – tight tolerances, rapid turnaround, rigorous inspection – translate directly to the demands of defense electronics manufacturing.

NAMC membership positions IPS Assembly to:

  • Access DoD-funded projects through the DAI OTA, including programs managed by GVSC, TACOM, and associated Program Executive Offices
  • Compete and team with a vetted ecosystem of ~550 defense industry organizations
  • Submit proposals directly via the NAMC DAI BIDS portal, giving us a streamlined pathway to prototype and production opportunities
  • Engage with ground vehicle programs that depend on the exact capabilities we produce – wiring harnesses, cable assemblies, and electronics integration for military platforms
  • Build relationships with government stakeholders, prime contractors, and fellow manufacturers through NAMC-hosted events, industry days, and bi-annual member meetings

A Natural Extension of Our Michigan Roots

NAMC’s headquarters in Sterling Heights and its core partnership with GVSC at the Detroit Arsenal in Warren, Michigan means this consortium is genuinely local to us. As a Livonia-based manufacturer, we are proud to be part of a Michigan-anchored defense industrial ecosystem that supports the Army’s most critical ground mobility programs.

The defense industry’s demand for reliable, high-quality wire harnesses and cable assemblies for ground combat vehicles, autonomous platforms, and next-generation systems is growing — and we’re ready to meet it.

What’s Next

IPS Assembly is actively pursuing defense opportunities across DLA, DIBBS, SAM.gov, and now through the NAMC DAI OTA. We are investing in the infrastructure, compliance programs, and certifications – including CMMC 2.0 – necessary to be a long-term, dependable partner to the U.S. defense community.

If you’re a prime contractor, defense integrator, or government program office looking for a proven Michigan-based electronics manufacturer, we’d love to connect.
