Inspiring the Next Generation: Manufacturing Day 2025 at IPS Assembly

Students in the IPS Assembly conference room on Manufacturing Day 2025

This past week, IPS Assembly proudly participated in Manufacturing Day 2025, opening our doors to students from Chandler Park Academy High School for a hands-on look inside the world of electronics contract manufacturing.

Manufacturing Day, celebrated nationwide each October, is all about sparking curiosity and empowering the next generation to explore careers in modern manufacturing. At IPS, we view it as a meaningful opportunity to bridge the gap between the classroom and the real-world innovation that powers today’s technology.

Curiosity in Action

The Chandler Park Academy students brought incredible energy and enthusiasm throughout their visit — asking thoughtful questions about everything from printed circuit board assembly (PCBA) and robotics to automation, quality control, and how a design becomes a finished product.

Our team walked them through the full process, from component placement to inspection and testing, offering a behind-the-scenes perspective on how electronics manufacturing drives industries from automotive and lighting to defense and medical devices.

Moments like these remind us that manufacturing is more than machines and materials — it’s about people, creativity, and collaboration.

Community and Partnership

We’re deeply thankful to Michigan Works! Southeast (SEMCA Michigan Works!) for coordinating Manufacturing Day initiatives across the region. Their continued efforts to connect students with local employers help strengthen Michigan’s manufacturing ecosystem and inspire young minds to see what’s possible in this field.

Events like this reinforce our belief that exposing students to real-world manufacturing environments is one of the best ways to build a strong, skilled workforce for the future.

The Bottom Line

Manufacturing Day isn’t just a single event – it’s an investment in tomorrow’s innovators.
At IPS Assembly, we’re proud to be part of that journey: mentoring, educating, and inspiring the next generation of engineers, technicians, and makers who will continue to shape the future of American manufacturing.
